How do I avoid getting ingrown hairs?

Exfoliate and Moisturize!

In order to avoid ingrown hairs you need to exfoliate and moisturize your skin on a regular basis.  Exfoliating regularly will also improve the ease of your monthly sugaring services.  Remember NOT to exfoliate the day before, the day of or the day after you are scheduled for body sugaring. The sugaring paste will gently exfoliate your skin, so you always get a two-for-one deal with your body sugaring service… hair removal plus exfoliation.

When you do get ingrown hairs, use the SweetExfoliator™ Serum.  Dab a small amount on the affected area a few times per day to help release ingrown hairs. The product is an alpha hydroxy acid moisture serum with hyaluronic acid, so it helps to exfoliate and moisturize your skin.  It’s organically preserved and can be used on the face and body to keep your skin hydrated, smooth, and radiant.  Use it daily on any area of your body in need of exfoliation.

The serum is usually enough to remove ingrown hairs, but you may want to use it in conjunction with the SweetExfoliator™ Toner Pads.  The two products are formulated from natural and organic ingredients that work synergistically to leave your skin feeling wonderful!  An alternative to exfoliating with the toner pads is to use a pair of massage gloves.  They can be used daily while you’re in your shower.  Be sure to moisturize your skin afterwards, and know that alkaline cosmetics, tanning lotions, after-shave products with alcohol and bar soaps will leave a film on your skin that contributes to ingrown hairs.  Avoid these types of products for at least 48 hours after your body sugaring service.  Ask your Certified Sugaring Practitioner for suggestions on other pre and post care treatment products developed specifically for your body sugaring treatment.
